We are seeking a knowledgeable Tariffs Expert to provide specialized guidance on international trade policy, tariff structures, and customs regulations. This part-time consulting role requires comprehensive expertise in tariff classification, trade agreements, and the economic and strategic implications of tariff policies across global markets. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Analyze tariff policies, trade barriers, and customs regulations across multiple jurisdictions Provide strategic assessments on the impact of tariff changes on international trade flows and business operations Monitor developments in bilateral and multilateral trade agreements (WTO, USMCA, CPTPP, etc.) Advise clients on tariff mitigation strategies, trade compliance, and regulatory optimization Evaluate the economic and geopolitical implications of protectionist measures and trade disputes Prepare detailed reports and briefings on tariff-related risks and opportunities for client decision-making Track legislative and policy changes affecting tariff structures and international trade relations ________________________________________ Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Economics, International Law, Business Administration, or related field Expertise: Strong understanding of tariff systems, harmonized tariff schedules (HTS), and customs valuation methods Knowledge: Proficiency in international trade law, WTO regulations, free trade agreements, and customs procedures Analysis: Demonstrated ability to interpret complex trade data and assess tariff policy impacts Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional consulting and reporting ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (Master's or JD) in International Trade, Economics, or International Law Professional certification (Certified Customs Specialist, Licensed Customs Broker, or equivalent) Experience with government agencies (U.S. Customs and Border Protection, International Trade Commission, etc.) Background in trade policy research, consulting, or corporate trade compliance Experience analyzing defense industry trade issues and dual-use export controls Familiarity with trade remedies (anti-dumping, countervailing duties, safeguards) Knowledge of supply chain optimization and country-of-origin determinations ________________________________________ Work Arrangement Compensation: $100/hour, negotiable based on experience and expertise ________________________________________ Contact: Robert@milibridge.com
