Role Purpose:
* Role focus: sell spinal deformity implants/instruments and support surgeons/OR teams through pre-op planning, intra-op support, and post-op follow-up. Sales + strong clinical/technical understanding of deformity correction.
What you will be doing:
* Clinical: Spine deformity pathology, common deformity procedures (posterior fusion, anterior approaches, PSO/VO/Smith-Petersen osteotomy basics), instrumentation, biologics basics.
* Product: Implant families, instrumentation workflow, tray setup, sizing/options, adjunct technologies (navigation, robotics, intra-op neuromonitoring).
* Commercial: Hospital procurement, contracting basics, pricing strategy, quoting, product launches.
* Reimbursement: Basic understanding of spinal procedure coding, DRGs, and payer considerations that affect product selection.
* OR support: Comfortable in sterile field protocols, setting up instrumentation, troubleshooting intra-op issues, and teaching instrumentation to staff.
* Sales process: Territory planning, account mapping, KOL development, clinical education (cadaver labs, proctorships), and case follow-up.

What you will bring:
* Strong experience in medical device or surgical sales experience (spine strongly preferred).
* Clinical exposure: Regular time spent in ORs supporting cases; comfort assisting surgeons and OR staff.
* Licensing/credentials: Must be able to obtain hospital/vendor credentials and meet required immunizations/credentialing.
* Mobility: Willing/able to travel frequently (often 50%+ depending on territory).
* Compliance: Knowledge of and commitment to industry regulations and company compliance policies
Preferred/ideal experience:
* Strong experience selling spine implants, with specific experience in deformity systems (scoliosis/kyphosis correction, osteotomies, pedicle screws, rods, tethering, growing constructs).
* Clinical background: Prior surgical technologist, RN, PA, or orthopedic/neurology clinician experience.
* Track record: Demonstrated territory growth, new account acquisition, and procedure volume increase for spine products.
* Technical training: Knowledge of spinal anatomy, biomechanics, instrumentation, navigation/robotics, and pre-op planning tools.
* Systems skills: CRM (Salesforce), Power BI/Excel for sales analytics.
* Relationships: Existing relationships with spine surgeons and hospital purchasing/procurement teams in the territory.
