Role: Senior / Lead Estimator Location: Islington (office‑based, Mon–Fri) with occasional site visits (travel reimbursed) Salary: £60,000 – £100,000 per annum (depending on level of experience and seniority) About the Company You will be joining a well‑established London‑based interior fit‑out and bespoke joinery contractor specialising in high‑end commercial, leisure and residential projects. The company is known for delivering large, technically complex fit‑out schemes with strong attention to quality, environmental standards and quality management. They operate out of a central London head office, delivering projects across the city and beyond. About the Role As a Senior or Lead Estimator within their pre‑construction team, you will take full ownership of the estimating process for a range of interior fit‑out and bespoke joinery projects. You will lead tenders from initial enquiry to contract award, collaborating with supply chain, commercial, design and delivery teams to ensure accurate, competitive and compelling submissions. Key Responsibilities * Interpret drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documents to develop full and accurate cost models * Lead preparation of detailed bills of quantities, scope breakdowns and competitive tender submissions * Liaise with specialist sub‑contractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and build supplier databases * Conduct risk assessments and value engineering workshops to optimise bids * Present tender proposals at settlement meetings and advise on pricing strategy * Mentor and support junior or assistant estimators within the team * Ensure seamless handover of awarded tenders to delivery and project teams * Maintain and update cost libraries/rate schedules for materials, labour, plant and overheads * Attend occasional site visits to support tender clarity and scope verification (travel reimbursed) Experience & Skills Required * Proven track record (typically 7 years) in estimating large-scale fit-out, joinery or M&E building services projects * Strong technical understanding of joinery, partition systems, ceilings, MEP interfaces or similar disciplines * Proficiency with estimating software tools, plus advanced Excel skills * Excellent analytical, commercial and presentation capabilities * Strong attention to detail and organisation, with the ability to manage multiple tenders in parallel * Confident communicator and negotiator, adept at building internal and supply chain relationships * Full UK driving licence (for site visits) Benefits & Working Conditions * Competitive salary of £60k–£100k, benchmarked to experience and role seniority * Comprehensive benefits package including pension, private medical insurance, holiday allowance, training and development support * Opportunity to lead high‑profile and complex projects in central London and beyond How to Apply If you’re a technically adept estimator with leadership experience and ambition to drive high‑quality tender submissions in London’s high‑end fit‑out sector, we’d love to hear from you.
