Senior Estimator

Salary: Up to £75,000 + Package
Location: Exeter
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our client’s South West team in Exeter. This is a key role within the business, responsible for producing accurate, timely and competitive cost estimates that support new business wins and drive continued growth.
Reporting to the Regional Commercial Director, you will play a pivotal role in protecting the company’s commercial interests, ensuring bids are robust, competitive and carry a low-risk profile.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the estimating process for new residential and mixed-use developments
2. Produce accurate, competitive cost plans and tenders to tight deadlines
3. Manage pre-acquisition viabilities and competitive bid submissions
4. Review contractual documentation and identify commercial risks early
5. Develop risk allowances to support confident bid decisions
6. Work closely with commercial, design and operational teams
7. Support and mentor junior estimators
8. Deliver clear handovers to post-contract teams and follow company best practice
Requirements
9. Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, procurement processes and the local subcontract market
10. Solid understanding of contracts and pricing
11. Experience using Housebuilder and Evaluate estimating systems (advantageous)
12. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
13. Advanced estimating expertise within the residential construction sector (advantageous)
