We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Senior Pharmacy Technician to provide leadership and co-ordination of the dispensary pharmacy service.
You will be need to be an experienced Pharmacy Technician, with a relevant pharmaceutical qualification and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Pharmacy Technician to provide leadership and co-ordination of the dispensary pharmacy service.
You will:
- Deliver a high quality, safe and effective pharmacy service, actively participating in the delivery of services to all areas of the department.
- Co-ordinate and support the training and development of trainee pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacy technicians with respect to dispensary services.
- Provide leadership and management of staff, processes, procedures and workload/workforce planning and development of the dispensary services.
- Ensure patients and staff receive excellent service and medications are dispensed in a safe and efficient manner which meets set KPIs.
- Manage risks, errors and near misses in the various dispensary environments, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated.
- Co-ordinate and lead on investigations and outcomes to incidents, errors and complaints received regarding the dispensary environments.
- Continuously contribute to service improvements

1. Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician
2. Registration as a UK Pharmacy Technician
3. NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services, BTEC Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent Accredited Checking Technician accreditation
Desirable criteria
4. Leadership Experience
5. Educational Supervisor accreditation
6. Accredited Medicines Reconciliation accreditation
