An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Children’s Occupational Therapist in Barking and Dagenham as part of the Children’s Integrated Targeted Health Services. The post is a permanent, full time role (37.5 hours per week).
You will join a small, innovative and supportive team, providing assessment and intervention for children and young people aged 0‑19 who have functional difficulties attributable to a wide range of special needs or disabilities. Assessment and intervention is delivered within the clinic but also in the child’s home, school, nursery or community settings. Opportunities exist to develop and run groups.
Responsibilities
* Managing your own caseload and working without direct supervision.
* Providing functional assessment of children with special needs and disabilities, focusing on childhood occupations.
* Delivering family‑centered and evidence‑based occupational therapy intervention.
* Contributing to the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service.
* Facilitating both one‑to‑one intervention and group sessions for children, young people and parents.

Since joining, new starters will be welcomed and inducted at the Trust’s head office in Rainham, Essex. The induction lasts up to two weeks and includes mandatory training, systems training, equipment allocation, and opportunities to meet the executive team, senior managers and attend drop‑in sessions on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.
The role will be subject to a probationary period.
This post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941 per annum, pro rata for part time).
