Excellent opportunity for an experienced Toolmaker to join a well-established plastics manufacturer, working within a specialist toolroom producing and maintaining extrusion tooling for ongoing production and development projects.
On offer is a varied and hands-on role where you will be responsible for manufacturing, repairing and modifying precision tooling from concept through to final production, working closely with both the toolroom and development teams.
This company is a recognised manufacturer within the plastics industry and continues to invest in its tooling capabilities and product development. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a skilled Toolmaker to their experienced engineering team.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include manufacturing extrusion tooling from engineering drawings, carrying out tooling modifications during testing and trials, operating a range of conventional and CNC machinery, and supporting the development team throughout tool testing and production processes.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled and versatile Toolmaker with experience in precision machining, EDM processes and tool manufacture. Candidates with experience in plastics, extrusion tooling or similar manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply.
The Role:
Toolmaker, Tooling Engineer, Precision Engineer, CNC Toolmaker and all related job titles encouraged to apply
Manufacturing, repairing and modifying extrusion tooling from start to finish
Operating milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, EDM wire eroders, spark eroders and spark drills
Using 2D AutoCAD and interpreting engineering drawings to produce finished tooling
Monday to Friday, days-based role
The Person:
Experienced Toolmaker with precision machining and tool manufacturing experience
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience programming and operating FANUC-controlled EDM/CNC equipment
Knowledge of AutoCAD and tooling development processes
