Purpose of Role
We are recruiting for a Mobile Reactive Maintenance Electrician to support our East Midlands Railway (EMR) contract, delivering reactive and planned electrical maintenance across a diverse portfolio of railway stations and associated operational buildings.
Job Description
We provide hard facilities management services across the EMR network, maintaining a range of environments including mainline and regional train stations, ticket offices, staff accommodation, control rooms, platform buildings, depots, retail units, and back-of-house facilities. Our focus is to deliver safe, compliant, and reliable environments for passengers, staff, and stakeholders across the region.
This is a mobile role covering stations across the East Midlands network, providing planned, preventative, and reactive electrical maintenance to ensure all assets remain fully operational and compliant.
Responsibilities
•Carrying out electrical PPM and reactive maintenance across station buildings and associated facilities.
•Fault finding, testing, inspection, and repairs on a wide range of electrical systems.
•Emergency lighting testing and remedial works.
•Distribution board inspections, repairs to sockets, switches, and lighting systems.
•PAT testing and small installation works.
•Minor rewiring and general electrical compliance tasks.
•Source materials/parts to complete repair and remedial jobs.
•Supporting with minor mechanical, plumbing, and fabric repairs as part of a multi-skilled FM team (however this would be limited).
•Accurately completing job sheets, compliance documentation, and CAFM updates in a timely manner.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
•Fully qualified Electrician – ECS Gold Card (essential) – NVQ Level 3 + 18th Edition
•Proven experience in commercial maintenance environments (FM background preferred).
•Strong fault-finding, testing, and reactive repair capability.
•Comfortable working in public-facing environments such as transport hubs.
•Good understanding of compliance processes and completing accurate maintenance paperwork.
•Full UK Driver’s License (maximum 6 points, no drink driving offences).
