Job Description
We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport Team at our Rugby site. As a Transport Planner you will be contributing to the success of the transport team, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day to day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday Nights (18:00 - 04:00)
Salary: Up to £31,000 Per Annum
Job responsibilities of a Transport Planner include:
1. Work with Transport and Warehouse teams, to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS
2. Assembling of 400+ consolidated orders into loads in every 24hr period
3. Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK
4. Planning daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and outbases
5. Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that may arise
6. Planning approx. 100 collections per day on a time critical basis
7. Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPI’s
8. Proactively look for continuous improvements
9. Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale
10. Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year
11. Efficiently utilise the Culina Group network in support Warrens when volumes dictate.
Qualifications
As a Transport Planner you will possess the following skill, experiences and qualifications:
12. As the successful candidate you will be able to work on your own initiative, with the willingness to resolve complex issues.
13. You should be able to comfortably organise your own workload and will be able to work in a pressurised environment to meet key deadlines.
14. You should be PC literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word in particular.
15. You must also have at least 2 years’ experience in a transport and logistics environment.
