Commercial Development Manager

What you’ll do:
We are seeking a capable, energetic and entrepreneurial person to join our Commercial directorate as Commercial Development Manager. In this role reporting to the Head of Commercial Growth you will lead and manage development of c2c’s ancillary revenue streams, commercial partnerships, and the delivery of business to business sales opportunities. You will drive growth in revenue, deliver added value through partners and suppliers, and ensure service excellence to clients and customers. Leading a small and fast paced team you will be a strong networker, managing internal and external relationships well and building a pipeline of future commercial opportunities.
Key accountabilities include:
* Lead, manage and develop the Commercial Development team, modelling an entrepreneurial approach and ensuring they have the skills, resources and cross-functional support to deliver the team’s objectives
* Optimise the financial value of c2c’s station trading estate. Manage c2c’s property tenancy agency and work with c2c’s buildings and stations teams to identify and deliver tenancies that increase revenue and drive customer experience improvements
* Work closely with commercial advertising agencies to design and implement a commercial advertising strategy that delivers the financial potential of c2c’s station, train and other media estate opportunities
* Lead c2c’s car parking contract management, working with the supplier to maximise revenue through pricing, capacity management and quality of customer experience
* Lead the management and development of c2c’s business to business revenue streams. Build and deliver a pipeline of B2B revenue opportunities from the student, commuter, group travel and other markets, ensuring timely and efficient ticket fulfilment
* Manage business relationships effectively and develop new partnerships. Engage with local business and tourism interest groups and create a sustainable partnership platform to drive revenue, add value and enhance the customer experience
* Negotiate and deliver new partnership and sponsorship agreements aligned to business objectives. Oversee the formalisation of these agreements and, where appropriate, hand off to the marketing, communications or other teams to deliver them.
What it takes:
* Must be passionate about delivering business growth and excellent customer experience
* Around 5 years’ experience in ancillary revenue, business development or retail property management with a proven record of financial delivery
* An entrepreneur who is a leader, influencer, and team player
* An analytical, forward thinking individual able to plan and innovate
* A strong negotiator
* Understanding of sales and marketing principles and techniques
* Excellent commercial acumen and good financial knowledge.
