Job Title: Waste Porter
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is looking to expand their existing Waste portering team to provide an efficient and high quality Waste portering service at our Southend Hospital Site.
These vital posts will be part of a team of staff undertaking a number of different roles which include transportation of different waste stream and faulty equipment around the site to facilitate the smooth running of the clinical departments and the hospital.
The job is physical in nature to include the transportation of waste, internally and externally. You will be working in a clinical service environment and it will require good communication skills. You will need to have the ability to respond to emergency calls in a calm and professional manner.
Main duties of the job
The role available is a full time post that will be on a shift based Rota as a waste porter. Previous experience of working in a waste portering role within a hospital environment would be an advantage.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, it is important to provide an effective, timely delivery and collection service which supports all aspects of clinical and non-clinical services. These include but are not limited to:
* Provide assistance on site to members of the public
* Transferring Waste internal and external
* Moving furniture for disposal
* Driving the waste vehicle and trailer (driving license required)
* Completing ad hoc jobs

Knowledge & Experience
* Experience of waste porter work in a hospital
Education & Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent
* Manual Handling/Health and Safety training
Driving Licence
* UK Driving Licence
