Overview
Academics Bristol is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join the team at a 'good' mainstream secondary school in South Gloucestershire. This is an exciting opportunity to support students both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring that every pupil has access to the full school experience regardless of their needs.
Location
Thornbury - BS35
Salary
£95 - £110 per day, depending on experience
Hours
32.5 hours per week, Term time only (39 weeks) + INSET
Responsibilities
* Deliver designated learning activities and interventions.
* Support pupils with their individual needs, as outlined in EHCPs.
* Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress.
* Act as a positive role model, upholding school values.
* Use ICT to support learning and develop student independence.
* Supervise students during break times and school activities where required.
Qualifications and skills
* Has previous experience working with children - teaching assistant, youth worker, support work etc.
* Holds GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) in English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Is confident to plan and deliver lessons to small groups.
* Can build strong, positive relationships with students, staff and families.
