Advert Text We’re reimaging what community engagement looks like at Merton Council, creating a bold, modern service that’s inclusive, innovative, representative, and resident centred. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Consultation and Engagement Officer to join our Communications and Engagement team and to help deliver this vision. At Merton Council, our aspiration is to build a better Merton together, putting the needs of our residents at the heart of everything we do - listening to their voices, understanding the experiences and needs of our communities, and embedding the insight and feedback residents share. In this exciting role, you’ll play a key part in delivering our vision for inclusive, meaningful engagement. You’ll design and deliver a wide range of consultation and engagement activities, helping to ensure that every voice in Merton is heard, especially those from seldom heard and underrepresented communities. You’ll work closely with colleagues across service areas, and will advise senior officers, and elected councillors on consultation and engagement best practice. Your insight and creativity will help shape how the council connects with our communities and makes decisions that affect local people. We’re looking for someone who’s enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to develop a deep understanding of Merton’s residents and communities. You will be experienced in developing and delivering public sector consultation and engagement plans, analysing qualitative and quantitative insight, and in communicating these insights to internal stakeholders. If you’re ready to make a real impact and help us build a better Merton, we’d love to hear from you. This is a permanent role. This role will require flexibility with occasional evenings and weekend working for community engagement and events. Please see the Job Description and Person Specification for full information about the role. If you’d like to discuss this opportunity before applying, please reach out to Sarah Pedder, sarah.pedder@merton.gov.uk
