Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and talented Fashion Designer to join the team at Box Menswear in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to design for a globally recognised menswear brand, with a primary focus on underwear, sportswear, and loungewear.
Our customers are predominantly part of the LGBTQI+ community, and we celebrate creativity, inclusivity, and bold designs.
Box Menswear is a dynamic e-commerce brand specialising in men’s underwear and clothing. We pride ourselves on creating unique, high-quality designs and fostering a collaborative, fun, and forward-thinking work environment.
This role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and for a start date as soon as possible. We understand reasonable notice periods may need to be honoured for the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design innovative and stylish menswear, focusing on underwear, swimwear, sportswear, and loungewear.
* Create detailed Tech Packs for overseas suppliers, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
* Communicate regularly with overseas suppliers regarding garment and sample amendments.
* Oversee the sampling process from concept to completion, and see your designs go global.
* Collaborate with the team to refine ideas and deliver standout collections.
* Conduct trend and market analysis regularly.
* Ensure your designs are commercially viable within the brand's positioning.
* Collaborate cross-functionally and leverage transferable skills to represent the brand and translate designs into digital formats, including graphic design.
What We Need From You:
* A passion for and experience in fashion design, ideally in men's apparel.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and knowledge of InDesign.
* Experience in creating Tech Packs for suppliers.
* A collaborative, creative mindset with the ability to contribute ideas.
* A positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
Desirable but Not Essential:
* Interest in the commercial side of fashion design, including supplier relationships and negotiation.
* Keen interest in the global reach of your designs.
* Previous experience traveling to meet suppliers abroad.
* Basic knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel.
Why Join Us?
* Hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 WFH).
* Flexible working hours between 8am-9am start and 4pm-5pm finish.
* Potential international travel to supplier locations and trade shows.
* Small team environment with shared achievements.
* Creative, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
* Opportunities for growth and recognition.
* Competitive holiday package and staff discounts.
Additional Information:
* Full-time hybrid role based in Speke, Liverpool, with free parking.
* In-house designer role; freelance/self-employed candidates are not considered at this time.
* Role involves exposure to male bodies during product development and photoshoots.
* Initially the only designer, with potential team growth.
We value capability and creativity over formal education and welcome candidates from all backgrounds. If interested, we would love to hear from you!
Box Menswear is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusivity. Accommodations are available during the application process upon request.
The role will transition into a hybrid work model after an initial four-week in-office onboarding, with flexible remote work options on a 3 fixed days in-office and 2 WFH basis.
