The Insolvency Service is a leading Government agency that provides essential services to the public and businesses. Our work is vital for the proper functioning of markets, the economy, and supporting thousands of people each year in financial difficulty.
We are recruiting two Management Accountants to join our busy and friendly Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their careers in public sector finance. You will play a key role in ensuring our financial data is accurate and that our month-end processes run smoothly.
We value diversity and inclusivity. Applications from underrepresented groups are encouraged. The Insolvency Service strives to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all employees. We have various employee networks, including Carers, Disability & Health, LGBT+, Mind Matters, and others.
We offer flexible working options, including full-time, part-time, and job share arrangements. We focus on capability, skills, experience, and continuous development. Employees are encouraged to engage in activities that benefit the agency and their communities.
The role is within the Financial Planning & Analysis team, part of the Finance, Commercial, Sustainability, and Property directorate. As a Management Accountant, you will manage financial data, maintain controls, ensure timely reporting, and prepare financial returns. You will also update our indirect cost allocation model monthly, supporting understanding of activity costs, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
You will have opportunities to influence reporting and data modeling, especially as we embed multi-year forecasting and develop unit costs. Your contributions will enhance financial insights and reporting capabilities.
We seek candidates with a Level 4 professional accountancy qualification or higher. If you are working towards a full qualification (e.g., CIMA or ACCA), we will support you in achieving it.
