Due to increased opportunities and demand in the Energy & Natural Resources division, the Energy & Natural Resources team are recruiting a Project Planner to join a diverse and supportive team during a period of significant growth. Our nuclear client is at the forefront of industry leading change, and we are keen to speak to individuals with project planning experience to see what Turner & Townsend can offer you. Candidates will be required to be present in our client office in Glasgow or Perth for 3 days per week.


Responsibilities

* A Planner will be responsible for work packages and projects of varying size and complexity. They will take the lead on planning for multiple non-related projects or a single highly complex project within the programme of works.
* Develop and maintain robust project schedules, manage time, cost, risk, change, reporting and scope to provide accurate data for management decisions.
* Ensure client objectives are met and projects are delivered to time and cost targets and quality standards.
* Lead on planning, supporting more junior planning professionals on novel, high value projects or programmes.
* Create, develop and maintain project schedules aligned with project requirements on complex, risk-managed projects.
* Adhere to NEC or FIDIC contract processes for management of schedule data and submissions.
* Assist the project team to develop status reports to keep management informed on project progress.
* Oversee day-to-day management, staffing and the implementation of Integrated Project Controls standards and processes.
* Interact with the project team to define scope of work, develop/update detailed schedules, cost information and identify variances.
* Assist project managers to schedule work and coordinate assignments.
* Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
* Analyse float, critical path and constraints to understand effects of changes or slippages, recommending recovery actions.
* Undertake project progress reviews and monitor/ consolidate multiple project schedules into an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
* Monitor project managers reporting systems and KPIs across multiple projects; understand and report EVM periodically.
* Provide functional management of planning personnel, mentoring and coaching as required.


Qualifications

* You have professional Project Controls experience specialising in Planning & Scheduling across whole project lifecycles. Nuclear experience is desirable but not required.
* Strong knowledge and proficiency with Primavera (P6) and other planning/resourcing software; ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong communication skills and leadership behaviours; ability to influence, motivate, coach and develop a team in a diverse and inclusive environment.
* Desire to build community and support networks beyond the delivery role.
* Will be able to obtain BPSS level security clearance.
* Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., Association for Project Management, Project Management Institute).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to make risk-based decisions where parameters are unclear.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to mobilise, inspire and lead by example; strong stakeholder management experience.
* Ability to navigate conflict situations and defuse tension; desire to work within the nuclear sector.
