Overview
Are you interested in joining our car park team at The Christie main site? You will be required to work outdoors assisting patients, staff, visitors, and contractors to park. Applicants should be smart, flexible, reliable, show initiative in all situations and have excellent customer service skills. We are a well-led, well-established team in ongoing development. Shift patterns: Mon - Sat, 0600-1400, 0800-1600, 1000-1800. Annual leave: 27 days plus 8 bank holidays.
Responsibilities
* Provide a professional, courteous, efficient, and polite service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors.
* Act as first point of contact to assist patients and visitors, including giving directions and accompanying to departments or wards as required.
* Assist patients with wheelchairs as needed and accompany to the main site when required.
* Maintain car parks in a clean, safe, and tidy state; clear leaves, grit in adverse weather, and empty bins as required.
* Ensure patient and patient visitor entrances are clean and tidy.
* Ensure adequate numbers of wheelchairs are available at main patient entrances (Oak Rd, Palatine Rd, OPD receptions) and that external wheelchairs are cleaned daily.
* Monitor car park usage and escalate issues as required; prevent staff parking on patient/visitor car parks and vice versa; report faults or problems with car park equipment; perform basic first-line maintenance and replenish ticket machines; reserve parking spaces when required; ensure contractors do not park on site.
Qualifications
Essential
* Good literacy skills
* Good interpersonal and oral communication skills
* Moving and handling training
* Willingness to learn how to operate equipment (walkie-talkies, car park management equipment, wheelchairs)
* Be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Experience
* Working as part of a team or as an individual
* Previous car park attendant experience
* Customer service skills
Desirable
* Working with the public
* Previous NHS experience
* Security Training
Knowledge and Values
* Must be willing to learn operating equipment (Walkie-talkies, barriers, ticket machines, etc.), wheelchairs
* Demonstrate the organisational values and behaviours
