This apprenticeship role reports to the Reliability Manager or relevant department FLM when on site. You will join a multi-skilled team responsible for supporting the Packaging, Brewing, Utilities, and Quality departments through effective maintenance to maximize equipment availability and uptime. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and rectification on automated and PLC-controlled equipment, including packing machinery and site services such as compressors, fridges, and boilers across the brewery.
Training will be provided to elevate successful candidates to an agreed standard, supporting equipment optimization, performance, and reliability. A training plan will be followed to ensure seamless integration into the team.
Full apprenticeship training is provided, starting with 6 months at Burnley College, then rotating across brewery departments to gain comprehensive site knowledge while earning an Engineering Apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure facilities, layout, and machinery operate efficiently and effectively.
* Maintain plant and equipment to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards.
* Perform installation, testing, fault finding, and planned maintenance on automated equipment.
* Apply skills across electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems.
* Interpret engineering data and documentation.
* Use lean techniques to improve efficiency.
* Support installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment.
* Diagnose and repair complex systems.
* Support maintenance of mechanical, fluid, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and process control equipment.
* Minimize machinery downtime through preventative maintenance.
* Ensure smooth handover of tested equipment and plant.
