Job Description
Evolved from Cornwall 365 Director role, Director of Creative Enterprise leads Creative Kernow's growing enterprise activities, develops its future strategy and new opportunities, while manages the team that delivers our current programmes including:
* Cornwall 365 What's On: The Premier Platform for cultural life in Cornwall;
* Creative Kernow Associates: The membership programme to connect, develop and showcase the creative and cultural sector in Cornwall;
* Enterprise Projects: Cross organisation trading activities including research and consultation, skills and network development and business services.
The aim of Creative Enterprise programmes is to be the catalyst for sustainable growth in creative businesses and cultural economy, putting creativity at the centre of the wider economy in Cornwall.
Most of the activities above are carried out through Creative Kernow's trading subsidiary - Creative Kernow Enterprises Ltd.
The role is contracted under Creative Kernow Enterprises Ltd. (CKE Ltd.), a trading subsidiary of the Charity. It reports to the CKE Ltd. board and is line managed by the Creative Kernow CEO. It oversees key team members and plays a leadership role within Creative Kernow.
Key Terms
Location: The role is based at Krowji, Redruth, Cornwall TR15 3GE but hybrid working is possible. The role involve attendance at meetings and events elsewhere.
Pay band: Director
Salary: £40,000 (24,000 pro rata) +3% pension scheme. 20 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays.
Hours: 0.6 FTE (22.5 hrs per week) - with potential for increased hours, funding dependent. The role requires working Thursdays, with flexibility across the remaining days.
Contract type: 12-Month Maternity Cover.

Job Requirements
Essential:
Strong belief in the value of the creative economy in Cornwall;
Extensive knowledge of the creative sector and support mechanisms in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly;
Collaborative strategy development;
Proven team leadership and line management skills;
Experience in business development, relationship-building, and income diversification in non-profits;
Strong financial skills, including budgeting and forecasting;
Effective at managing client relationships;
Skilled in communications and marketing;
Confident in demonstrating impact;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Organised, self-sufficient, and committed to personal development;
Valid driver's license and own transport.
Desirable:
Consultancy/facilitation experience;
Sales experience in advertising or services;
Knowledge of membership schemes and enterprise development.

Job Responsibilities
Strategic Development
Help shape Creative Kernow's enterprise strategy and direction;
Identify and deliver income growth opportunities;
Use research, consultation, and networking to inform programme design;
Contribute to marketing and communications strategy and delivery;
Lead on impact reporting for Creative Enterprise.
Leadership and Management
Set objectives and income targets with team members and support achievement;
Report to trustees on progress and opportunities;
Support organisation-wide projects and programme evaluation;
Oversee Creative Enterprise budget and financial reporting;
Promote collaboration across teams;
Embed sustainability, data, and EDI priorities.
Relationship Building
Lead on key partnerships across and beyond the creative sector;
Foster collaboration across Creative Kernow teams and advisory groups.
