Main duties of the job
Call handlers in our Emergency Operation/Contact Centres use the NHS Pathways system to assist callers in various situations, from minor illnesses to life-threatening emergencies. The role involves providing lifesaving advice and directing callers to appropriate services.
This demanding but rewarding role requires dealing with stressful situations with compassion and resilience. It involves working a flexible shift pattern, including early, late, and weekend shifts, with arrangements to ensure a good work/life balance. Applicants must work 3 out of 4 weekends.

* Full-time training in a supportive environment, including classroom, observation, and mentoring, leading to independent call handling
Training duration: Weeks 4-9, with a flexible shift pattern during mentoring.
Responsibilities
Applicants should demonstrate commitment, resilience, teamwork, and excellent communication skills. GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C or above are required.
