Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator
Base: To be agreed, hybrid working

Working hours: 18-37 hours per week, can be full- or part-time, job share possible
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: £24,831.39 (FTE for 37h/w)

* Have the right to live and work in the UK.
* Have a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for the robust recruitment, selection, training, support, retention and general supervision of volunteers from local communities across all YSS services as and when required.
* Liaise with YSS service staff and connect them with appropriately trained volunteers.
* Responsible for the review and updating of volunteer training for all services within YSS.
* Maintain contact with volunteers via the phone/email, organisation of group meetings/forums, training and social events.
* Act as a YSS point of contact for volunteers and referring agencies as appropriate.
* Carry out risk assessment as appropriate and ensure that volunteers are working in a safe and appropriate manner, in accordance with YSS policies and operational procedures e.g. lone working, health and safety, child and adult safeguarding, risk, confidentiality etc.
* Provide a “buddy system” for volunteers.
* Attend volunteer recruitment events and promote YSS volunteering recruitment across West Mercia.
* Monitor and respond to all correspondence via the volunteer email box.
* Assist in the preparation and distribution of quarterly news updates.
* To recognise and support Equality and Diversity.
* To create and maintain appropriate quality case management records.
* To undertake project self-administration including maintaining database records, recording and monitoring regular statistics, assisting in providing data for monthly and quarterly reports, managing & updating information systems.
* To participate constructively in supervision and team meetings with line manager and undertake appropriate training as required and appropriate.
* To understand and actively promote the vision, values and profile of YSS and both internally and externally.
* here required, work with colleagues to ensure the safe and appropriate use of volunteers on all projects.

Skills & Experience
* Relevant qualifications and experience appropriate to the role (Social Work/ Probation/ Health/ Education/ Youth Work/ Management) or evidence of transferable skills/experience.
* An understanding of the factors that contribute to volunteer recruitment and engagement.
* Good ICT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
* Good literacy and numeracy skills.
