We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and dedicated team. This is a wonderful opportunity to support young learners at a vital stage in their education and help them develop a love of learning. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as Year 1 Teaching Assistant:
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities for Year 1 pupils.
* Work with small groups or individual children to reinforce learning, particularly in early literacy, phonics, and numeracy.
* Help to create a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment.
* Assist with preparing resources, setting up activities, and organising displays.
* Support pupils with additional needs to ensure they can access the curriculum fully.
* Supervise children during playtimes, lunchtimes, and school trips as required.
* Promote positive behaviour and help children develop good social skills.
Ideal Year 1 Teaching Assistant:
* Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting is desirable.
* A good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, especially phonics and early learning.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant.
* A caring, patient, and flexible attitude.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
