Vehicle Technician (Level 3 Qualified Mechanic) North London

Are you a qualified Vehicle Technician looking for stability, variety, and excellent career prospects? We are recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic to join our North London workshop, maintaining one of the UK's largest and most diverse vehicle fleets, including electric vehicles, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), and heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).
Working Hours
39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks)
Three-week rotating shift pattern:
Week 1: 06:00 14:30
Week 2: 06:00 14:30
Week 3: 13:30 22:00
Saturday working is required on a rotational basis (approximately once every three weeks). The workshop is not currently operational on Sundays.
Pay and Benefits
£44,345 annual salary
£87.58 weekly shift allowance when working the late shift (13:30 22:00)
Saturday supplement: £52.10 per shift
Sunday supplement: £104.20 per shift (where applicable)
Potential welcome bonus of £1,500 (subject to terms and conditions)
Overtime opportunities with potential earnings up to £60,000 per year

The Role
As a Vehicle Technician, you will:
Carry out inspections, diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vehicles and trailers
Work on both traditional fuel-powered and electric vehicles
Maintain light and heavy commercial vehicles to high safety and operational standards
Use your own toolkit for routine maintenance and repairs
Access specialist tools and equipment within a modern workshop environment
Support fleet reliability and vehicle availability through quality workmanship
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent
Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician
Experience working on LCVs, HGVs, or a variety of vehicle types
A full UK manual driving licence
An HGV licence and trailer experience (desirable but not essential)
Your own toolkit for standard maintenance and repair work
A strong commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork
Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern
