Police Scotland Procurement Team Expansion
Due to a planned increase in capital investment, particularly related to Police Scotland’s Estate Masterplan, the organization is strengthening its procurement team. Ten additional roles have been created to enhance current resources and establish a new category team. This will split the existing combined corporate and estates category team into two dedicated teams, each comprising a Category Manager, Senior Procurement Specialists, Procurement Specialists, Procurement Officers, and Procurement Assistants, with approximately 9-11 members per team. This expansion aims to efficiently meet the rising demands for capital expenditure and support Police Scotland’s 2030 vision for policing.
Currently, there are two Senior Procurement Specialist roles available, with anticipated openings in the Estates and Corporate categories. Experience in construction contracts, NEC and SBCC terms, professional services/consultancy contracts, and developing national contracts is desirable.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced procurement professionals to join a thriving team that recently received the GO Awards Scotland Procurement Team of the Year. The reorganized team offers excellent personal development and career progression opportunities. Working in policing presents unique challenges, and the team collaborates with various partners to deliver sustainable, strategic, and value-for-money procurement projects.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Category Manager, the successful candidate will manage and drive complex procurement activities to support SPA/Police Scotland’s organizational goals, legislation, and directives. They will lead a team of Procurement Officers and Assistants to fulfill their duties effectively.
