Optegra has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Refractive Optometrist to join our team, working across our Hampshire and Surrey hospitals.
This is a part‑time role of 27.5 hours per week worked over 3 days across two sites.

The Role
As an integral part of a multidisciplinary team working alongside consultants, you will carry out pre and post‑operative consultations, assessing the suitability of patients for treatment. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out examinations associated with cataract surgery.
* Running acute and follow‑up clinics postsurgery for patients, documenting findings in the electronic medical record systems.
* Providing health advice and support to patients attending the hospital.
* Providing first‑line clinical advice to patients and following the appropriate referral pathways to a medical practitioner if necessary.
* Ensuring awareness of the uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment within the clinical competency framework.
* Ensuring awareness of CQC policies and updates, attending all mandatory update courses.
Requirements
* Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist.
* Extensive experience working as an optometrist in a refractive, high street or hospital environment.
* Experience of using patient administration systems and electronic medical record systems.
* Experience of working to conversion targets and other KPIs within Vision Correction.
