Overview
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join the North and West AMHT in Witney, West Oxfordshire. The role is to work as part of a well established Multidisciplinary Team on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the care for patients with severe and enduring mental health diagnoses within the AMHT treatment function.
* Work autonomously with a caseload, engaging patients and providing recommended treatment and support.
* Provide community mental health care, assess and plan treatment with service users, and assess and manage risk, including safeguarding processes.
* Facilitate group interventions (e.g., MBT/CBT based) as part of the MDT, which includes medics, psychological therapists, social workers, OTs, RMNs, support workers and embedded third sector staff supporting employment, housing and social needs.
There is an expectation of flexibility to cover out-of-hours shifts when required. The post holder may need to travel around the county to offer interventions; the area is rural with limited public transport, so access to transport is essential. The team operates on shifts from 07:00 to 21:00 (7 days/week), with primary hours typically 9:00–17:00, subject to rota requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: Registered professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy; evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
* Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team; relevant experience in community care and clinical expertise in mental health.
* Ability to assess clinical risk and undertake risk management; understanding of safeguarding processes.
* Desirable: Experience supervising or managing staff.
Skills
* IT literate with excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
