Senior Coating Specialist - Kilrea - Permanent The Paint Coating Specialist will be responsible for preparing, applying, and monitoring industrial paint coatings to ensure high-quality finishes, adherence to technical specifications, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining consistent coating processes, driving production efficiency, and contributing to continuous improvement across operations About the role:
1. £15 - £20 per hour
2. Monday to Friday (8am - 5pm)
3. 40 hours a week
4. Permanent role
What you'll be doing in this role:
5. Operate, monitor, and maintain coating equipment and systems within the paint facility.
6. Prepare materials and surfaces, ensuring correct pre-treatment and cleanliness before coating.
7. Apply coatings in line with product specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.
8. Inspect finished coatings using visual assessments, thickness testing, adhesion checks, and other quality control methods.
9. Troubleshoot coating defects (e.g., sags, runs, pinholes, blistering, orange peel) and implement corrective measures.
10. Record and maintain accurate data on coating processes, production outputs, and quality inspections.
What you'll need for this role:
11. 3–5 years’ proven experience in paint coating operations within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
12. Strong knowledge of industrial coating systems (powder, liquid, electrostatic, or other specialized applications).
13. Hands-on experience with automated coating machinery, spray guns, booths, curing ovens, and related equipment.
14. Understanding of surface preparation methods and coating quality standards.
