Due to promotion of the post holder, we have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician (Higher Level) in our dedicated Clinical Trials Team. You will play a key role in supporting the Pharmacy Clinical Trials service, supporting the needs of our patients as we develop new service delivery models and prepare to open our new Hospital.
Applicants must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and be a team player. Experience in Clinical Trials or Pharmacy Technical Services although not essential, are welcomed. You will be part of a strong and supportive team who can aid your learning, with opportunities for development tailored to your needs.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months until 31/03/2027. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
Main duties of the job
* To contribute to the provision of a dispensing service for clinical trial patients, ensuring that the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) are applied
* Under the general direction of the Principal Pharmacist and Senior Pharmacy Technician, to undertake the day to day management of the pharmacy clinical trials service ensuring an efficient and timely service to all users
* To undertake technical checking of prescriptions as an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician and to maintain competences and accreditation in this area.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* BTEC Pharmaceutical Sciences, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician clinical (ACPT) or working towards
Desirable criteria
* Other health or pharmaceutical e.g NVQ Assessor
* GCP training
Experience
Essential criteria
* Recent experience in Hospital Pharmacy
Desirable criteria
* Recent experience in hospital Pharmacy Clinical Trials services
* Recent experience in hospital Pharmacy Aseptic Services
* Oncology experience
* Supervisory experience
