Practice Educator Emergency Department. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Educator, to join the Emergency Department at St Richards Hospital, part of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
We currently see approximately over 100,000 patients per year, with 25% of patients we see being children. We are also a designated Trauma unit. The Emergency Department consists of 5 adult and 1 Paediatric Resuscitation bays. 23 Major spaces, made up of 15 trolleys and 8 chairs, a Rapid Assessment Bay and a 6 chair Ambulatory Clinical Decision Unit.
The post holder will support the Lead Practice Development Nurse to establish and maintain a positive and effective clinical learning environment for both pre and post registered nurses, including overseas nurses and their specific needs.

To proactively promote and deliver evidence based education and support to promote best nursing practice at all times. To ensure nursing staff have both the knowledge and skills to deliver safe, effective, compassionate care competently, aiming for the highest standards possible.
Person specification
* Registered Nurse
* Minimum 2 years ED Experience
* Confident & Competent in all areas of Emergency Care
* Evidence of study at Level 7 relevant to Emergency Care
* Any experience or background in teaching or delivering training Leadership & Role modelling
Additional ED skills
* Human Factors training
* ALS/PILS/ATLS
* Mental health first aider training
* Conflict resolution training
Salary: £38,682 - £46,580 per annum pro rata
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (part time also considered, minimum 23 hours per week.)
