This permanent Bookkeeper role in Tunbridge Wells involves maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the accounting function within a professional services environment. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of financial processes.


Client Details

This opportunity is with a professional services firm operating within the accounting and finance sector. They are a small‑size organisation with a focus on precision and delivering high‑quality financial services to their clients.


Description

* Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable.
* Reconcile bank statements and ensure financial records are up to date.
* Prepare VAT returns and assist with tax compliance requirements.
* MTD ITSA returns.
* Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
* Handle payroll processing and related queries.
* Maintain accurate records of invoices, receipts, and payments.
* Collaborate with the accounting team to streamline processes.
* Provide support during audits and financial reviews.
* Support with company secretary duties.


A Successful Bookkeeper Should Have

* A strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
* Experience working in a professional services environment.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
* A proactive approach to problem‑solving and attention to detail.
* Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualifications (e.g., AAT or equivalent).
* Familiarity with VAT, payroll, and tax compliance processes.
* A good understanding of personal tax.
