We’re looking for an experienced Headteacher to join The Holden School, Leigh, Lancashire. This role focuses on delivering high-quality education with a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum, promoting pupil outcomes, self-esteem and wellbeing, alongside academic development.
Salary up to £80,000 per annum dependent on experience. Hours: Monday to Friday. Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only. Start Date: January 2026. UK applicants only.
Note: This vacancy reflects the Opportunities First Group 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial in some contexts, with the company aiming to adopt 4DWW once a full team is in place.
Responsibilities
* Provide dynamic leadership of the School and develop and promote a clear vision for the service.
* Ensure continuous improvement, safeguarding, and pupil outcomes within a Trauma Informed and Therapeutic Led framework.
* Lead and develop a Centre of Excellence in the education of students.
* Create and implement a strategic plan that inspires pupils, staff and other stakeholders.
* Collaborate with senior managers to grow wider services and increase referrals where appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience
* At least three years’ experience as a senior leader in a specialist school.
* Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent.
* Willingness to extend personal and professional development.
* Ability to lead with a clear vision and manage school processes impacting pupil outcomes, staff motivation, safeguarding, pupil recruitment, and regulatory compliance.
