Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team at HMP Gartree, a category B prison located in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.
HMP Gartree has a capacity of 1,965 males. The pharmacy is based within the healthcare department and is responsible for dispensing, ordering, prescription rewriting, stock control, and medication checks. The team consists of four staff members. Managing a team of five, including a Pharmacy Assistant and a Pharmacy Technician, this is a 50/50 clinical and managerial role requiring prior leadership experience.

Hours
* Monday – Sunday service
* 37.5 hours per week
* Weekdays & weekends – 07:30 am to 05:00 pm
* 1 weekend in 4
Salary
This position is full time. The annual salary ranges between £40,167 and £48,200 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities
* Supervise pharmacy technicians and support the development of junior staff
* Oversee the administration and medicines management, working across our primary care and substance misuse wings
* Provide health promotion advice to inmates in areas such as smoking cessation, hypertension, healthy living, and minor ailments
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
* Accuracy Checking Technician qualification
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up‑to‑date with continual professional development (CPD)
* Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
