Directed hours: Monday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM; Tuesday‑Friday 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. 5 days per week – term time only.
Role Summary
We are looking for a positive, flexible, compassionate person to join our independent special school for 18 pupils. The successful candidate will support a small group of 5‑6 pupils, deliver a tailor‑made academic curriculum, lead one subject area, and provide therapeutic support to children with low‑level dysregulation and mental‑health needs. Lessons are delivered at the school and activities are planned around the local area, using specialist support teams for extra‑curriculum activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a tailor‑made academic curriculum for a small group of pupils.
* Lead on one subject area with support from the class teacher and Curriculum Lead.
* Implement our therapeutic curriculum for vulnerable pupils with mental‑health needs.
* Transport and accompany children to local activities; ownership of a car and full driving licence is essential.
* Collaborate with the teaching and support staff to provide high‑quality SEND provision.
* Maintain accurate records and progress monitoring.
Qualifications & Experience
* Substantial recent school‑based experience supporting and teaching pupils with SEND.
* Evidence‑based therapeutic approach to pupil behaviour and SEND provision.
* Qualification in at least GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
* Experience as a Learning Support Assistant is welcome; desire to progress to Higher Level Teaching Assistant status.
* Full financial support and training provided during the course.

Clarity Independent School is a small special needs school for pupils with complex learning and SEND profiles. Pupils aged 6‑17 are referred by the statutory assessment teams of several local authorities in Essex and surrounding areas. We have 13 places.
