Project Engineer
An opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects within a major long-term alliance. The role covers the full design lifecycle from feasibility through to construction support and technical handover ensuring all work meets client, statutory and NEC contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate design activities from concept through to construction issue, including reports, drawings and specifications.
* Interpret client requirements, complete root-cause analysis and develop practical design solutions.
* Work with planning teams to develop and review programme schedules.
* Act as the main interface between clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal delivery teams.
* Provide technical support during construction, managing RFIs, technical queries and constructability reviews.
* Ensure compliance with CDM duties, health and safety requirements, and internal quality standards.
* Maintain project documentation, registers and design logs.
* Support junior engineers and contribute to collaborative team delivery.
About You
Essential:
* Degree/HNC/HND in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or ICA Engineering (or equivalent experience).
* Experience in utilities projects, ideally water/wastewater.
* Strong design coordination and technical problem-solving skills.
* Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Knowledge of relevant H&S legislation and design compliance.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with WIMES, NEC contracts, BIM, and project/programme management.
* SMSTS/NEBOSH, PRINCE2 or similar qualifications.
* Relevant CSCS card.
