An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Teaching Support Technician. Based at the Sutton Bonington Campus, this role supports the delivery of practical teaching across a range of laboratory and animal-based settings.
Responsibilities
* Support teaching activities including setting up and clearing away materials and equipment for clinical teaching classes.
* Assist senior technicians with preparation of chemicals and media, maintain stock levels, and ensure cleanliness and safety of teaching laboratories and associated areas.
* Assist with animal care duties across the school’s facilities, including kennels, small holdings, and the livery yard. Responsibilities include general animal husbandry and maintaining clean and comfortable environments, and supporting logistics of feed and consumables.
* Health and safety responsibilities such as safe disposal of clinical and biohazard waste, equipment maintenance, and electrical safety testing.
* Communicate effectively, work independently and as part of a team. Physical capability to lift and move equipment and consumables. Basic IT skills and understanding of health and safety procedures.
Requirements
* Minimum of GCSEs (grade C and above) in Maths and English or equivalent, or relevant work experience in a similar technical role.

* Salary: £23,751 to £24,360
* Contract: Permanent, full-time (36.25 hours per week). Secondments from internal candidates may be considered with prior agreement from relevant line managers.
