About The Role
The transformation team provides enduring transformation capability and expertise that enables bp's evolving operating model to deliver our strategy and deliver predictable performance. In this role, you will help accelerate meaningful people-centred mergers and acquisitions (M&A) programmes and projects across bp - turning strategic ambition into sustainable performance. The role will support people-centric M&A initiatives that are aligned to and deliver our strategic ambitions.
In addition, you will provide integration and separation expertise for our highest value projects within the M&A and joint venture (JV) space, across different entities and regions. You will join the project working group to drive the People and Culture elements of these projects and coordinate different sub-workstreams to ensure effective integration/separation strategy, business case, plan, achievements and execution are adhered to during these critical business transactions.
What You Will Deliver
Support M&A integration and separation projects and P&C strategy
* Under the direction of the Business and M&A Integration Lead, support a high-quality P&C integration strategy and plan across all people and organisation elements of the acquired entity, support to build a decision driven critical path to ensure value is captured at the right time.
* Evaluate critical people-related issues from the business evaluation stage, due diligence report and incorporate mitigation into the plan.
* Ensure maximum visibility of issues, people-related risks and mitigations.
Support the development and execution of our integration and separation projects
* Support overall execution of the P&C integration/separation plan across the P&C workstreams.
* Direct day-to-day tasks and workflow, communicate decisions to the broader working team, monitor overall workstream progress, coordinate dependencies, risk management and issue resolution.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy activities to facilitate the smooth integration and separation of teams, processes and systems resulting from M&A and JV decisions.
Support culture, engagement and change efforts throughout our programmes
* Support engagement efforts to keep employees informed about our progress, changes, timelines and support them through the change.
* Collaborate with key partners, including P&C leadership, senior leadership across finance, legal and other relevant teams, to ensure alignment and successful execution of M&A initiatives.
Support building transformation capability within bp
* Support the M&A discipline owner to build capability for our business and P&C community.
* Own certain M&A chapters of the different playbooks and tools to support our teams.
What You Will Need To Be Successful
* With rich and proven experience within M&A, you will likely come from a consultancy or in-house background, specialising in people-based programmes.
* You will have a global perspective and understanding of strategy, preferably with experience in the energy sector.
* You have strong understanding of key M&A and JV processes, including experience navigating associated challenges, and deep experience in the People elements of M&A.
* You demonstrate the ability to support complex programs with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and challenging deadlines, while driving clear commercial outcomes.
* You bring strong problem-solving, critical thinking and commercial acumen, leveraging lean, Six Sigma and systems thinking.
* You bring consulting skills with excellent communication and interpersonal capability, demonstrating the ability to influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and senior leaders. You show adaptability, collaboration, emotional intelligence and strong relationship management.
* You take ownership and deliver results in challenging, client-facing environments.
