SEN Teaching Assistants - Secondary Schools

Location: High Peak Area
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Long-term Opportunities Available
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: Competitive daily rates, paid weekly via our in-house PAYE payroll

Premier Education is currently working in partnership with a number of welcoming and supportive schools across the High Peak area who are recruiting experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support secondary-aged students from September.

We are looking to speak with compassionate and resilient individuals who are available to work 5 days a week supporting students with a range of additional needs within secondary school settings.

This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates who are passionate about helping young people thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role:

• Providing classroom and 1:1 support for secondary-aged students with additional needs
• Supporting students with a range of SEN including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning support
• Delivering small group interventions where required
• Helping to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting young people with additional needs
• A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
