We are recruiting Production Operatives to join our team based in Lancaster. This is a day shift role working an 8-hour flex shift, 8am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities include managing plant and equipment related to the Winder, Packaging Line, and Core Maker.
Your duties will involve operating the winder and core winder efficiently, minimizing wastage, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications and Paper Machine output.
You will also maintain high standards of housekeeping across the site, support the safe and smooth operation of the Mill, and assist with goods inwards by loading and unloading as needed.
As a Production Operative, you'll be responsible for running high-speed machinery safely and effectively, conducting quality and safety checks, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary adjustments.
The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and maintaining high standards.
Production Operative Duties
1. Operating and monitoring machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production.
2. Conducting quality checks on finished products to meet standards.
3. Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery.
4. Assisting with loading and unloading materials.
5. Adhering to quality, health, and safety procedures and regulations.
6. Keeping records of production output and downtime, working with the team to meet targets.
7. Carrying out pre-use machinery checks and identifying faults.

Essential Requirements
* Basic IT Skills & Microsoft Office proficiency
* A recognised Health and Safety Qualification such as CIEH Level 2
* Excellent problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 including Maths, English, or equivalent GCSE
* Additional training qualifications
* IPAF License
* Recognised Leadership Qualification
* Strong understanding of Production departments
