The Role
As a Marketing Assistant you will work closely with the Head of Marketing and the wider marketing team to coordinate and deliver marketing campaigns, create engaging content and maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints. The role includes digital marketing, social media, events, customer communications and promotional materials.
Key Responsibilities
* Event Support
o Assist in planning and delivering the annual event calendar for Matthew Algie and Espresso Warehouse.
o Coordinate corporate events, presentations and photo shoots, including briefing, event planning, task tracking and inter‑team communication.
o Support logistics: product ordering, collation and post‑event restocking.
o Maintain event documentation: MMCRF submissions, purchase orders, event forms and kit tracking.
o Assist with lead, conversion and sales reporting following events.
o Provide secondary support for sales‑led events as required.
* Internal & External Communications
o Maintain up‑to‑date, GDPR‑compliant, segmented customer databases.
o Manage distribution process from quotes through POs to completion.
o Track returns and database corrections.
o Produce and share monthly marketing updates with the wider team.
* Marketing Administration
o Support data management: annual database refreshes, stock usage reporting, product code requests.
o Assist the Head of Marketing with purchase orders, budget monitoring and general administration.
* Other Support
o Work with the Purchasing team and Marketing Manager to manage samples and promotional product orders.
o Contribute ideas and support to marketing initiatives across the business as needed.
Experience
* Some experience in marketing, preferably within hospitality, coffee or FMCG or a related customer‑focused environment.
* Familiarity with marketing campaigns, events, promotions and basic brand management principles.
* Experience with customer databases, POS materials and administrative support is desirable.
Skills / Knowledge
* Organised and detail‑oriented: manage multiple tasks and deadlines accurately.
* Communicative and collaborative: work well within a team and liaise effectively across functions.
* Proactive and reliable: take initiative, anticipate needs and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
* Digital literacy: comfortable using Microsoft Office, CRM systems and digital marketing tools.
* Creative and supportive: contribute ideas and support marketing activity with a practical, hands‑on approach.
Qualifications
* A marketing, business or communications qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Interest in coffee, hospitality or FMCG is advantageous.
