Due to continued growth and ambition within our Events Team, we are looking to recruit a Trainee Event Planner. This role offers a structured development opportunity, with the f irst 9 months operating as a joint role, incorporating Event Administrator responsibilities as part of maternity cover. Event Administrator (maternity cover) Duties – Until December 2026 only Placing supplier orders and managing internal purchase orders. Booking accommodation for projects throughout the year. Providing data and administrative support to the Events Team. Completing forms, applications, and documentation as required. Organising client hospitality and entertainment. Carrying out general administrative duties. This approach provides a supported transition, allowing you to build knowledge, confidence, and capability before taking on increased responsibility. Trainee Event Planner Working Hours: Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00 with 30 mins for lunch (40 hrs per week) 3 weekends included in salary. (Will be required to work outside of these hours in order to meet the client’s demands including stopping away from home on occasions in order to fulfil the role. Will report to Events Traffic Manager. Will be primarily based at home as a remote worker but required to travel to a BUKO depot/office including Head Office as well as various meetings around the country on a regular basis. The successful candidate would be subject to a 3-month probationary period. Primary Duties Be responsible for a portfolio of national events ensuring these accounts are maintained. You will be the client’s main point of contact at BUKO. You must look to develop your accounts by building relationships and being innovative. Show knowledge and expertise to design a Traffic Management Plan. Competently attend meetings of various natures and appropriately represent the company. Deliver your events covering all logistical aspects (staffing, vehicles, equipment etc). Be responsible for and manage large numbers of people on events. Learn and adapt, in line with the company, in terms of new avenues of the events team and both support and be able sell these opportunities. Write, complete and submit tender bids. Work independently and manage own workload while meeting and exceeding any personal or department targets. Use existing company software such as our internal bespoke system (REPS). Will be required to work hours and travel around the country to meet with clients and/or stakeholders based on the client’s requirements. Training & Development You will work alongside experienced Event Planners throughout the event season as part of a structured training and development programme. Responsibility will increase progressively as you become established in the role. This position is designed to support long-term development within BUKO’s Events Team. You must be an organised, self-motivated and confident person. Professionalism and a mature positive attitude is paramount as you’ll be representing the business in front of major clients and stakeholders. You must be honest and reliable due to the self-managing aspect of the job. You will be required to, when necessary, work extended hours and elsewhere in the country as well as spend nights away from home (with what could be little notice). You’ll be required to work event weekends which will be agreed prior. You must have a driving license. You would preferably have experience within the event industry and have previously worked on events. This is not a necessary requirement.
