Overview:
I am building a serialized visual universe tied to a concept music album. This is not a one-off illustration project. The goal is to define a cohesive world with recurring characters, architecture, vehicles, environments, and a consistent visual language before any animation or video production begins.
I am looking for a visual development partner to lead the early-stage worldbuilding process in a structured, iterative sprint.
Project Scope (Phase 1 – 4–6 Week Development Sprint):
• Define core visual language of the universe
• Develop main character design system (silhouettes, proportions, expressions)
• Establish architectural and environmental rules (city, interiors, vehicles, objects)
• Define color logic and lighting principles
• Produce rough concept explorations before finalizing direction
• Create a short visual style guide ("world bible") for future production use
This phase is exploratory and iterative. The focus is on defining a coherent system, not producing polished final illustrations.
Tone & Direction:
The universe blends satirical edge with emotional depth.
Visually, it sits somewhere between simplified stylization and graphic narrative tradition — expressive but system-driven.
Strong atmosphere, clear silhouettes, and consistent world logic are critical.
Further narrative details and music references will be shared privately with shortlisted candidates.
What I'm Looking For:
• Experience in visual development, concept art, animation pre-production, or indie comics
• Ability to design environments and objects — not just characters
• Strong understanding of visual systems and stylistic consistency
• Comfortable working in iterative cycles with structured feedback
• Portfolio must include original worldbuilding work (not only fan art or style replication)
