This college caters for students in 3 groups, 16, 19 and 25. They cater for a wide range of needs in regard to Autistic Spectrum Condition, learning difficulties and physical disabilities. They offer a rich and varied curriculum including horticulture, animal care, conservation, outdoor learning, catering, creative arts, woodcraft and retail skills with a central aim of building a range of life skills to live a purposeful and fulfilling life in adulthood. Purpose of The Job Supporting class Tutors with the preparation of resources to meet the personalized learning intentions of allocated students. Providing 1:1 support under the supervision of the class Tutor for the delivery of skills-based learning. To use a range of communication strategies including Makaton to support communication with students with a range of complex needs. Work closely with class Tutor to report on progress using an evidence-based approach To use the College Evidence for Learning system to record attainment and progress within lessons To support the animal manager to promote the health and wellbeing of the animals ensuring high standard of animal care are maintained, assisting with tasks including feeding, watering, mucking out and cleaning equipment. To frequently assist the horticulture team with tasks within the kitchen garden and other garden areas including weeding, watering, harvesting and maintenance to support the upkeep of the horticulture enterprise project.
