Job Description
Manage production lines and labour to meet planned volume and commercial targets in accordance with QA and safety standards. Act as a role model for best practices and support Line Leaders where appropriate.
Production Operations & Customer Service
* Provide leadership for the site production teams
* Lead the implementation of the Operational Strategy
* Ensure compliance with Company and Legal requirements for H&S and Quality
* Liaise with other departments regarding production plans and ensure targets are met
* Plan and manage labour resources effectively to meet customer requirements
* Communicate, own, and deliver production efficiency targets (e.g., labour and waste)
* Attend customer review meetings as required
* Coordinate with internal departments (Warehousing, Transport, etc.) to communicate production requirements
* Utilize systems to drive Continuous Improvement across operations
Health & Safety
* Conduct risk assessments
* Participate in health and safety meetings, providing feedback as necessary
Management Responsibility
* Coordinate with agency controllers, providing feedback on agency staff to both the agency and HR
* Perform additional duties within scope and grade of the role as required
Colleague Management
* Conduct disciplinary and grievance hearings following company procedures, with HR guidance
* Participate in performance reviews, including setting KPIs for Controllers and Team/Line Leaders
* Assist HR and Training in developing staff training and development plans
* Coach, support, and mentor colleagues to foster an empowering culture
Qualifications
* Experience in a production environment (preferably food or packing)
* Experience in warehousing operations
* Experience with customer, BRC, and ISO audits
* Experience working with packaging machinery
