What you’ll be doing:
• Provide a depth and breadth ofexpert knowledge gained through substantial work experience toapply principles and concepts of systems engineering, ISO 15288 andown specialist mechanical engineering expertise to development orproblem resolution of a complex shipborne structure with integratedsensor configurations
• Provide technical and businessleadership and may lead several engineering teams, includingmanagement and possible control of costs associated with the teamactivity
• Analyse, define, evaluate, plan anddeliver solutions to meet programme, business and customerrequirements • Interface with customers, suppliersand other functions and will act as an ambassador for engineeringto these groups • Assist with development ofengineering capability and skills and monitor professionaldevelopment of engineers to meet future disciplinerequirements Your skills andexperience:
• Subject matterexpertise in Mechanical Engineering: Structures and Finite ElementAnalysis (particularly Static and Dynamic Shock and Vibration) orequivalent experience
• Ability togenerate requirements and translate concepts into production-readydesigns • Relevantexperience/knowledge of CAD and Mechanical Engineering Analysis,Modelling and Simulationtools • Experience ofleading large scale complex systemdesigns • Experience ofmultiple aspects of an engineering lifecycle and expert knowledgeof lifecycle models (e.g. Waterfall, Agile) • Highereducation (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM discipline • AchievedChartered Engineer status or be working towards
