Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by the Unlimited Collection is seeking a charming and engaging Duty Manager with a passion for service excellence. You will report to the Assistant Front Office Manager, supporting/working towards providing our guests with memorable experiences of the city.


Responsibilities

* Ensures the Front Office team offers a warm welcome, accurate information, and guest comfort and safety.
* Oversees adherence to company procedures (check-in, check-out, cash and key handling).
* Manages team communication and fosters a collaborative environment.
* Supports the Assistant Front Office Manager with recruitment, performance management, talent development, and absence management.
* Handles guest queries and complaints, involving senior management when necessary.
* Manages bookings, room allocations, group reservations, and special requests.
* Initiates and maintains effective communication within the department and with other departments.
* Ensures compliance with safety and security procedures, financial tasks, and assists with revenue management.


Qualifications

* Excellent guest engagement skills.
* Cash and key handling experience.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation: health and safety, employment.
* Ability to act on own initiative and think ahead to exceed expectations.
* Creativity and confidence to find solutions to everyday challenges.
* Experience working in a four‑star hotel as a Supervisor.
