We are looking for a talented Production Planner to join our team and play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly on a 12 months FTC If you're highly organised, analytical, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Job Title: Production Planner – Chilled Food Manufacturing Shift Pattern: 05:00 am -16.30pm Sunday - Tuesday for 2 weeks and every 3rd Week Sunday - Wednesday Location: The Compleat Food Group, Tottle Bakery, Nottingham Salary: Between £32,000 and £35,000 per annum depending on experience About The Compleat Food Group At The Compleat Food Group, we’re proud to be a food business built on purpose and passion. What You’ll Be Doing Reporting to the Planning Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring our manufacturing processes are planned in the most efficient and cost-effective way while making sure customer orders are delivered on time and in full. This is a pivotal role that connects multiple departments across the business, helping to balance customer demand, production capacity, labour requirements, and material availability to create effective production plans. Process customer orders and communicate key information across the business. Analyse sales forecasts and work closely with the Commercial Team to understand customer demand. Create and maintain production schedules for both Pre-Bake and Post-Bake operations. Consider production capacity, labour availability, equipment performance, raw materials, efficiency targets, and delivery schedules when planning. Monitor factory performance throughout the day and respond proactively to any deviations from plan. Reconcile daily stock reports and investigate variances. Support cost control by considering labour and material costs within planning decisions. Maintain and improve planning systems, processes, and reporting tools. Build strong working relationships with Production, Commercial, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams. Produce KPI reports for senior management and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Provide cover for Material Controller and Logistics Coordinator duties when required. Deputise for the Planning Manager during periods of absence. What We’re Looking For: Previous experience in a Production Planning role is desirable. Experience within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous. Understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows. Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Excellent organisational and planning abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines. High attention to detail. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
