Overview
Warwickshire County Council is seeking a Street Lighting Engineer to join the Street Lighting Team in the Warwickshire area. The role includes an out-of-hours allowance of £2,712 per annum.
Responsibilities
* Arrange for the installation, maintenance and repair of street lighting systems, including luminaires, control systems, and power supply systems.
* Carry out regular checks and inspections of streetlights to ensure they are working correctly and safely.
* Keep accurate records of work carried out and report any problems to the appropriate team members.
* Always follow health and safety protocols, ensuring that all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
* Perform on-site inspections and work with the team and term maintenance contractor to ensure streetlights operate efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Work outside of normal working hours and at locations different from the designated base as required by the role.
Qualifications and Skills
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Strong planning and organisational abilities.
* Essential IT skills.
* Ability to contribute to current developments in the technical specialism within the employing organisation and relevant industry/trade bodies.
