Senior Project Manager - Rail – Amey
We are seeking a permanent Senior Project Manager to join our Consulting Rail Design team in Cardiff. The Cardiff Crossrail project involves a major tramway initiative delivering a direct rail link between Cardiff Central and Cardiff Bay, and Amey has been appointed as the Principal Designer Advisor for the Preliminary and Detailed design phases.
Responsibilities
 * Lead a team to produce technically sound project management deliverables that meet relevant technical standards and client requirements
 * Prepare, check and maintain project management information to support delivery within quality, cost and programme criteria
 * Oversee junior staff performing similar tasks and take responsibility for their actions
 * Ensure the commercial success of projects within the portfolio by controlling budgets and project costs
 * Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attend progress meetings and respond to queries
 * Contribute to bids and the general work-winning function
 * Drive effective health and safety practices within the team
What You Will Bring To Us
 * Developed experience and expertise within the field of Project Management, likely gained in a Project Management role or equivalent
 * Experience in project tasks related to health, safety and welfare management, e.g. Amey’s Integrated Management System and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
 * Ability to act as day-to-day main project management contact for a project where required
 * Capability to prepare and check deliverables to a high standard
 * Proficient in project management software and analytical tools
 * Demonstrates good commercial awareness and understanding of interface management
 * Professional status: Incorporated or Chartered (or equivalent) through the appropriate professional route
 * Bachelor's or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject
 * Full membership of the Association for Project Management
 * APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or equivalent
