Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a team of 4 engineers, providing direct guidance to ensure legal compliance, plant availability, and performance.
* Bring an electrical focus to the role, strengthening team capability and closing identified skills gaps.
* Lead and coordinate proactive (planned preventative) and reactive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimise downtime across all sites.
* Financial control and responsibility for Engineering resource, R&M budget, HS&E, buildings, and maintenance – support the Ops manager in the monthly budget review process.
* Contribute to budget development, 3‑year capital project plans, and improvement projects, proposing solutions for potential savings or process optimisation plans and looking at ways to improve overall site performance.
* Provide a safety and quality first mindset to lead the team and support the wider site team, with a proven positive impact through effective team working, communication and leadership.
* Provide regular out‑of‑hours support and adopt a hands‑on approach to maintenance and engineering activities, ensuring the team can deliver reliable performance across a 24/7 operation.
Qualifications
* Multiskilled engineer with solid direct experience and qualifications – preferably HND/HNC, BTEC or NVQ Engineering qualification mechanical or electrical.
* Previous experience in Feed Milling, Flour Milling or other process‑related manufacturing/Boiler governance and controls, governance and control of engineering/site risks and hazards.
* Understanding how and when to apply the right continuous improvement tools and techniques.

Employment Details
Contract: Permanent – Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs per week (flexibility is required). Package includes salary from £60,000, a benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and reward your impact, including discretionary performance‑related bonus, and a matched pension contribution of up to 10%.
