Electrical Design Engineers (Building Services)
RPS is seeking Electrical Design Engineers (Building Services) to join our offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Newcastle on a hybrid basis.
About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across sectors such as residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, data centres, and energy, focusing on sustainable, functional, and cost-effective designs. Digitalisation enhances our delivery, allowing clients to experience designs from concept to completion with expertise spanning decades and disciplines.
What you’ll be doing: This role offers career progression within a reputable team experienced in all sectors of the built environment. Responsibilities include:
* Producing detailed design calculations and sketches
* Applying technical engineering design knowledge
* Liaising with senior engineers and technicians
* Supporting survey, design, specification, and contract administration
* Conducting surveys, design work, project administration, and site visits
* Carrying out electrical building services design for new and refurbishment projects
* Assisting in feasibility, concept, and scheme design stages
* Attending design meetings and inspecting systems
* Using software for calculations and CAD drawings
* Specifying products and equipment meeting legislative standards
Who we’re looking for: Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering and experience aligned with IET or CIBSE standards, capable of designing electrical systems from concept to detailed design, including:
* Low voltage distribution, lighting, small power, fire alarms, ICT cabling
* Proficiency with Amtech and AutoCAD
* Knowledge of Building Regulations Part L
